September 18, 2015 – Episode 5: The Ship Has Taken Me Far Away

Game Outline

1. A world lush in bloom continuation
   1. Spending the night
      1. Talking among the PCs?

         1. Sikarna thinks he’s odd
         2. Barnabas
            1. My father fought with him in back in the day.
            2. Was known as the Silver Fox during the uprising on Theta Boo
            3. Eventually worked his way to be the leader of the local forces in support of UK Stellar
            4. “My father used to say he saved several lives on both sides. Said he always had a peculiar way of knowing what to expect in combat…
            5. Well, from what I know, he helped hold off the rebels until the navy arrived. Then helped set up the pact that ended the war.
            6. Funny thing is, fighting started because many of the settlers were unhappy with the UK Stellar assigned governor, and in the end the old man ended up getting the governor turned out on treason charges and a local governor assigned
            7. If they ask who it was or if it was the captain – well… no… It was my father. *wry smile*
      3. Setting up watches?
      4. PCs can see the Starlight orbiting overhead occasionally. Perhaps Sikarna will point it out.
         1. Sikarna has a telescope
      5. The cook is able to come up with something decent from the local plants and animals they’ve found
2. Gojira fight
3. After getting a good sample of things, Sikarna declares a success and they begin packing up
   1. You lock your MS into place on the re-entry bell and you can see Barnabas typing in the cockpit. His voice calls out over the internal comm system. “Alright, if our calculations are correct, we’ve got a few minutes and we’ll be in place to rendezvous with the ship.” A few moments pass by “here we go” and the engines fire, launching you into the sky. A few moments later you find yourself trailing behind the Starlight. You all disconnect from the bell and make your to the front of the ship.

4. The next few days are spent getting “supplies” from the surface of the planet. The Tyson heads down and plants and animals are collected. PCs would come down armed with better firearms to help hunt the animals.

Notable Occurances

Finn MacNeil was the PC unfortunate enough to be awake when "Gojira", a giant fire breathing lizard, approached. The PCs fought valiantly against it, but Finn still took a great deal of damage, up-to and including his MS lighting on fire. He leapt into a river to put the fire out. On the flight back up to the ship, I said Finn's light fell off. Everyone heard it as leg, so I ran with it. His leg fell off. As a result, Finn had to pilot carefully back into the sortie tube, which resulted in a shotgun-like spray of metal parts being launched down the sortie tube with him. Hilarity ensued.
